For the first time this season, we've been rated as underdogs in a league game. The bookies put us at 11-5 to win, and they aren't taking bets on the out-of-form Luton Town. I won't be taking a defensive approach, though—at least not at the outset. We'll attack, with reasonable caution, as we always do.
Colchester manager and former local hero John Ward warned us about Luton's Keith Keane. The defensive midfielder is a cut above the usual Conference National (aka Blue Square Bet Premier) fare, so I'll be hoping we can keep him quiet.
Apparently it's set to be Barnes-Homer's first run-out against his former club. The press seem to be trying to spark fires. I'll be expecting the lad to put together a professional performance that proves he made the right choice joining our ranks.
As for my lineup, there are questions over the fitness of Bore and Ansah. I may need to rush Robson back or move Gowling across the the right side of defence if Bore pulls up tired and jaded-looking again tomorrow. Russell will come in on the left wing if Ansah doesn't recover enough of his fitness to start.
