Day 85

I got a call this morning from coach Grant Brown about Olembé's happiness. It worried me. The Cameroonian—our star player—is apparently struggling to adapt to life in England. I called him in for a private chat.

I offered him a leave of absence to go away and get his life in order. Hopefully he'll come back ready and firing. An unsettled star player is the last thing I need.

He's still two weeks from a return to fitness after his injury, so it won't have any real impact on the team unless he needs longer than that to settle.

Speaking of injuries, Oxby filed an update on our physio room status. Defender Karlton Watson is nearing a return from torn knee ligaments. I'll insist he play in a few Reserve team games before he's allowed to contend for a first-team place. Christophe looks to be about two weeks away, while big striker Sam Smith could be back in full training in as few as 12 days. Laurent still looks unlikely to play before the new year.
