Day 21

I terminated the trials of Scott Dobie, Patrick Suffo, Jonti Richter, Jules Tchimbakala, and Lee Peacock. I feel that I've seen enough of them to know that I'm not interested in signing them. That still leaves Inglis, Campbell, Koroma, Martini, and Darville on trial with the club...Or rather it did, before Darville joined Bishop's Stortford later in the day.

I'd rather like to sign them all, but can probably only squeeze enough money out of the wage budget to pick one. I need more time to decide who. Maybe after Wednesday's friendly match (that's two days from now) I'll have a better idea.

Central midfielder Chris Atkinson arrived on loan from Huddersfield. I expect he'll be challenging for a place in the starting lineup right away—should be interesting to see which two, of Atkinson, Power, and Christophe, win out.

The season opener is now twelve days away. We're still a long way from being ready—some players aren't fit and the "tactic familiarity levels" are still much too low, despite a heavy emphasis on match preparation in training.
